12 19 2006 - Eight wild turkeys wait to cross County Road 39 south of Plant City on Tuesday afternoon. The turkeys wandered up next to the road several times when it became quiet, but turned when they heard the noise of the next truck going by. A man who stopped to shoo the birds away from the roadway said he was a frequent hunter, and under different circumstances, he might be having turkey for dinner. BRIAN CASSELLA | Times
