president of Brandon High School's Gay Straight Alliance. Hillsborough
County parents, 1,100 of them, are so outraged over GSAs that they
signed petitions last month saying as much. They promote
homosexuality, some parents said. They talk about sex, others said.
Michael founded the GSA in 2003. Six people - Michael and five friends
he dragged with him - came to the first meeting. At this year's first
meeting, there were 87. "Wow," he remembers thinking when he first
