  Thank U, India

Thank U, India, originally uploaded by Brian216.

20050814 - Tina Kumar, 15, of West Hartford, gets some assistance from
Vijay Bishnoi (left) and her mom Shanta Kumar (right) in adjusting her
shalwar-kameez. Kumar wore the outfit to perform a dance with three
other girls as the group Mast-matiara, which means "carefree,
energetic girls," at the celebration of the 58th anniversary of
India's Independance Day held Sunday at the State Capitol. The event
included speeches by notable local Indian-Americans and Connecticut
political leaders and featured the raising of the Indian flag over the
State House. (Brian Cassella / The Hartford Courant)
