  Cricket

Cricket, originally uploaded by Brian216.

20050806 - Bashir Mujavar wipes sweat from his brow just after a
cricket match Saturday while his grandson, Uzer Bhura, 1, also of East
Hartford, tries to hand him a bat in the Windsor Cricket Clubhouse.
Windsor won a tightly contested friendly against Bridgeport at Clover
Street School. The club was founded in 2002 and is mostly comprised of
men from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. For the first time, Asians in
Connecticut are growing at a faster rate than one of the states other
largest minority groups - blacks. Though they have yet to have a huge
political impact, they are starting in pockets to revise the ethnic
map of the state. (Brian Cassella / The Hartford Courant)
