20050825 - Dr. Vasant Khachane performs a new heart procedure
nicknamed "Mini Maze" on Bevan Dupre, of Cheshire, on Thursday at the
Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven. The procedure is a minimally
invasive surgery to control atrial fibrillation - a heart rhythm
disorder that can cause a stroke if left untreated. The surgeons will
insert an endoscopic camera through two small incisions on either side
of the patient's chest. Once the site of the problem is located, a
radio frequency clamp is deployed to destroy the cells causing the
irregularity and ultimately restoring normal heart rhythm and blood

The group completed a formation skydive with all 16 women, breaking their own Connecticut state women's record of 12 set last year, in a jump organized to raise money for breast cancer research. They money will go with Reno to the Jump For The Cause event being held in Perris, California, from September 26 to October 1 this fall where 165 women from around the world will attempt the largest all-female freefall formation ever. They have already raised about $500,000 through the effort which will go to the City of Hope Breast Cancer Research & Treatment Program. Street School. The club was founded in 2002 and is mostly comprised of

largest minority groups - blacks. Though they have yet to have a huge
political impact, they are starting in pockets to revise the ethnic
